The interview between Nayuta born on September 12th and Kohei born on September 23rd is here! Nayuta is a man of few words with an aloof disposition but under the lead of Kohei, even he will share his memories of sports days ♪

In this edition, we will chat with two people who celebrate their birthdays in September—Asahi Nayuta from Gyroaxia and Hayasaka Kohei from Fujin RIZING.

—Please introduce yourselves.

Nayuta:Asahi Nayuta, Gyroaxia’s vocalist.

Kohei: I’m Fujin RIZING’s bassist, Hayasaka Kohei. Asahi and I have never really spoken to each other before so it’s nice to see him today.

Nayuta: Tch…let’s get this over with.

—Please tell us your first impressions of each other.

Nayuta: Don't care.

Kohei I see. I’ve always thought that Gyroaxia—and of course their vocalist, Asahi—were incredibly skilled.

Nayuta: So what? This is pointless.

—The two of you were born in September, the season for sports days. Please tell us some memories surrounding your birthdays.

Kohei Oh yeah, this is when sports days start happening, huh? I was born on the 23rd so people are pretty busy with the preparations around now. How about you, Asahi?

Nayuta: Tch…

Kohei:
C’mon, tell us. You don’t want to make this harder for the interviewer, do you?

Nayuta
: …In Sapporo, sports days are held in May or June. Not September.

Kohei: Oh, really? So it’s different in Hokkaido, huh? The weather must be nice and cool.

Nayuta: No matter if it’s hot or cold, I don’t understand how anyone gives a shit about that stuff.

Kohei: Really? Personally, I enjoyed sports days. In Nagasaki, food trucks come by on the day and sell ice cream. Eating that stuff on a hot day makes it extra delicious.

Nayuta: …You’re insufferable.

Kohei: Haha. You’re a first year so I got carried away talking to you the same way I do with Futa and the others.

Nayuta: Well stop it. The whole lot of you are a nightmare to my ears.

Kohei: Sorry, sorry. I bet having a sports day around May or June is a great way to get to know your classmates quickly.

Nayuta: I wouldn’t know.

Kohei: Huh? Are you saying you’ve never participated in a sports day before, Asahi?

Nayuta: …How would that be possible?

Kohei: Right, of course. My classmates would ask me to help out with a ton of things like the relay race or the cavalry battle…oh, and I was even on the cheer team.

Nayuta:

Kohei: The cavalry battle was one of my favourites. I was usually at the front of the horse since I’m strong and can bump into others without any problems. I wasn’t the one grabbing the bandanas but I was happy to see us win.

Nayuta:

Kohei: Those of us on the cheer team wore chorans.1 I put all my strength into waving the team flag but since my classmates were shouting their support so loudly, you couldn't tell who the actual cheer team was, haha.

Nayuta: …This is a waste of time. I’m leaving.

Kohei: Wait, wait, wait! You’re already here, so you may as well tell us more about yourself.

Nayuta:
This is a waste of time. Don’t make me say it again.

Kohei: Which events did you participate in, Asahi? You don’t seem like the type to do the relay race or the cavalry battle. Hmm—oh, I bet you were in the tug of war!

Nayuta: I wasn’t.

Kohei: Not that one either, huh? What else is there…how about the centipede race?

Nayuta
:

Kohei:
Bingo! Did you do the bean bag toss too? That ones great for preserving your strength. Stick around for a little longer until I can guess what other events you were in.

Nayuta: Centipede race, bean bag toss, jump rope. I’m leaving now.

Kohei: Ohh…alright, but even if it wasn’t for very long, I’m glad I got to talk to you! Our bands are our only connection so I’ve never had the chance to speak with you one on one before…oh, he’s already gone. He can’t hear me anymore, huh?

Kohei: So how did the Halloween party go?

Aoi: Ah, well...it was fun, I guess...

Kohei: That was a rather questionable response...did something happen?

Aoi: It was nothing major but...

Kohei: Was it...Kurama...?

Aoi: Kurama-kun? No, I didn't run into him while I was there. Actually...I had to deal with an embarrassing situation...

Kohei: An embarrassing situation...?

Aoi: Yeah. Everyone at the party had to be in fancy dress.

Kanata-kun had prepared some costumes for us but... my outfit was a cat...

Kohei: A cat...what's wrong with that? That's pretty normal.

Aoi: It's not normal! What's normal about cat ears!? Yamato got to wear a really cool costume!

I had a bunch of people I didn't know asking to take photos with me...it was so tiring...

Kohei: That must've been awful, but didn't you wear cat ears for a Halloween party back in elementary school?

Aoi: I was a little kid back then so it was fine! I'm a university student now, aren't I!?

Kohei: Alright, alright.

Have you got any photos? Did you take any? You should show me later.

Aoi: Nope, you don't need to see them!  Well, fine, I'll show you Kou-nii but you absolutely cannot show Futa or Misaki!!

If they saw that they'd definitely make fun of me...

Kohei: ..That's for sure.

Aoi: Just don't let them find out...

Summary
"Kohei is worried about what to do about the tight food budget for the month. Kenta passes by and tells him about a contest hosted by the university..."

Location: Kamogawa University

Kohei
This is bad...looks like we don't have enough...

Kenta:
...Hayasaka-kun?

Yuto
Ah, what a coincidence! I just ran into Satozuka-san too!

Kohei
...Oh, Satozuka and Goryo, huh?

Kenta:
Is something weighing on your mind? You seem troubled.

Kohei:
...Could I ask for your advice? I've actually got a bit of a problem on my hands...

Yuto
Eh...it's not about your band, is it? Has there been a conflict in opinions amongst musicians …!?

Kenta:
I assume you're not accustomed to living together, after all... Naturally, living under one roof comes with it's difficultiesー

Kohei:
...Sorry. I shouldn't have made it sound so severe. Actually, I suppose it is pretty bad.

Kenta:
What's happened...?

Kohei:
...We're kinda tight on the food budget this month.

Kenta:
...Huh?

Yuto:
...What?

Kohei
I get why you're reacting like that but this is no laughing matter.

There's one of us that takes advantage of where we live and splurges on sweets, another guy that spends on ingredients for making his specialty sara udon...

A guy that practically chugs down rice like it's water, and a guy who binge eats to cope with the stress of dealing with the others...

Before I realized it, it was already the middle of the month and we had almost nothing left to buy food...

Kenta
I see, that certainly seems troublesome.

Yuto:
Those guys sure eat a lot...

Kohei:
Hey, by chance... do you know any good part-time jobs? I'm pretty good at manual labor.

Yuto:
With Fes so close, don't you think it's better to stay away from jobs where you could get injured?

Kenta
I agree. Actually, it might not be a part-time job but I've got some potentially promising news for you.

Kohei:
...Oh?

Kenta:
I was talking about it with Goryo just now. Take a look at this. They were handing them out earlier.

Kohei:
A flyer...? "Kamogawa University Promotion of Culture Contest" ...

Yuto:
It's for thanking students for their cultural contributions but...it'll also be like crowning the winners of Mr and Mrs Campus.

Kohei:
How's this gonna help?

Kenta:
Look at the prize for the "First Year Male Student" category.

Kohei:
Let's see...the prize is a trophy and...a coupon for free food from the cafeteria...and lasts for half a year!?

Kenta:
Putting the prize aside, we also discussed how having a member participate would be a good opportunity to promote the band.

Yuto:
It seems like there'll be a ton of press there, so we'll be able to appeal to people that don't usually come to lives!

Kohei:
...This...this is it!!

"With great excitement, the battle of the bands is successfully held. While tidying up the venue, Aoi shares a few words with Misaki."

Location: Kamogawa University

Misaki: The weather today is great! These are perfect conditions for our live!

Yamato: Playing on an outdoor stage is nice. It feels good.

Futa: The audience is having so much fun with Argona's performance so we aren't gonna let them down either!

Aoi: Behave yourself on stage, Futa! We've gone through a lot of trouble to get here!

Kohei: Thanks for this, Misaki, Aoi. We're able to stand on stage because of you two.

Misaki: It's not big deal. All we did was tell them the real story.

Aoi: I'm glad the staff gave us a chance to explain. They understood the rumors online were just over exaggerations

Yamato: I didn't think Misaki would be able to persuade other people.

Misaki: Asshole! The hell are you doing thinking 'bout people like that!?

Executive A: Argonavis' performance is coming to a close!

Executive B: Fujin Rizing, please get ready!

Kohei: Alright, it's time. Does everyone remember the setlist?

Misaki: Of course! Aoi was reduced to tears while remaking the setlist so imma give it my all!

Aoi: I did not cry!!

Futa: Alright, let's do this!!

------------------------------------

Kohei: Oi, once you've finished cleaning up over there, come and lend me a hand!

Aoi: I'm almost done! Just give me a second!

Misaki: Alright, I'm almost done tidying up!

Aoi: ...Hey, Misaki.

Misaki: Ah? What's up?

Aoi: ...Thanks for everything.

Misaki: What's with you?

Aoi: When we thought we might not get to perform, I was shocked...I had no idea what to do.

Aoi: But then you came Misaki and bowed to the staff... you were able to convince them to listen.

Aoi: Everything worked out because of you. For that, thank you.

Misaki: Stop that, this is cringe as hell...

Aoi: Haha.

Misaki: ...Well, I guess I owe you my thanks too. All I did was bow.

Aoi: Eh?

Misaki: Didn't you help me a lot when we were younger? Don't make me talk about it.

Aoi: I don't think I did...

Misaki: It doesn't matter what you think.

Misaki: Back then, you, Futa and Kou-nii all helped me. I'm still thankful to this day.

Aoi: Misaki...

Misaki: ...Right then, we're done here! Let's go over to Kou-nii and the others, Aoi!

Aoi: ....Okay!

" Fujin Rizing is hard at work after being asked to perform at a school festival, however the executive committee realizes their mistake and an unforeseen situation comes to light..."

Location: Practice Studio

Misaki: Alright! That was great! Ain't the setlist this time just the best?

Futa: Aoi decided on the setlist so of course it's the best! This is gonna be a hit at our upcoming school festival live!

Aoi: Since it's a school festival, I went for something that would grab everyone's attention. That's why I decided to put a major cover song in.

Yamato: I want to make sure I have this drilled into my brain. Could we go through it once more from the top?

Misaki: Heh, I like where your heads at, Yamato! Alright, let's do this!

(Bzz! Bzz!)

Misaki: Huh, what with this phone's timing!?

Kohei: Sorry...it's from the executive committee of the school festival. We weren't supposed to have a meeting today but...

Kohei: Hello, this is Hayasaka. How can I help you?

Kohei: ...Eh!?

Location: Diner

Yuto: So you're saying there's been a double booking?

Executive A: We're truly sorry! The two of us are both in charge of sending out offers however it seems there's been some miscommunication...

Executive B: Didn't we agree we were gonna ask Argonavis in the first place? You're the one at fault here...

Executive A:
Hah, what did you say!? After watching their starting live you said we should go with Fujin Rizing...

Misaki: Quit fighting you two! This isn't the time for that crap!

Executive A & B: Of course, our apologies...

Kohei: Now then, what should we do about this...is there a way to increase the amount of bands performing?

Executive B:
We have other programs so...I'm afraid we can't add anymore performances...

Banri: So there's only one spot and two bands huh... well if this is how it is then we've got no choice!

Misaki: Oi, you wanna make a bet to see who wins the spot!?

Banri: Don't make such a big deal of it! If we perform together as a battle of the bands sort of thing then we'll be able to keep to the time limit.

Banri: On top of that, it'll be good publicity for when both of our bands perform at LRFes.

Yuto: I see, great idea, Banri! Let's go with that! What you say, Furai?

Kohei: Sounds good, I've got not problem with it. What're your thoughts, Misaki?

Misaki: I guess...it's fine but...

Banri: You got an issue with something?

Misaki: No, it's just... we put a lot of work into practicing our setlist... and now we won't get to perform it.

Executive A: We're very sorry about that...but, we'd be extremely grateful if you were to perform in a battle of the bands!

Misaki: Okay, quit the apologising!  I was just putting my thoughts out there. Let's do this band battle thing.

Kohei: Alright. Well, we should start working on it. Before anything, we should get our bands together to discuss this.

Yuto: If that's the case then why don't we meet up for a joint practice session?

Banri: That's a great idea! It'll bring down the studio fees too!

Misaki: Is that all you care about!?

Futa: Hey, Yamato...what was it like performing with Felix-san?

Yamato: ...It was overwhelming.

Futa: I bet...that guy views the world in a pretty exquisite way.

Yamato: It's definitely more fun with you guys. Performing alone or with Felix-san doesn't even compare.

Futa: Yamatooo!!

(Futa hugs Yamato)

Yamato: Don't cling to me, it's too hot.

Futa: That's Furai's guitarist for ya!

Yamato: ...What?

Futa: In Furai, there's nothing more important than "fun"!

It's fine if you've skill got some improving to do! Other than Kou-nii-chan, we're all about the same level.

But that doesn't change how much I love everyone's sound! Especially when we're together as a band, our sounds overflow with "fun"!

Yamato: A sound that overflows with "fun"...

Futa: Don't you think the people who come to see us get that impression? Everyone messes up from time to timeー

But we can blow it off by showing how much "fun" we all have when we're together!

Yamato: But isn't everyone...everyone other than me, capable of that since you're all childhood friends?

The amount of time I've spent with you all...it's nowhere near as long as you've all known each other. You've all had so much time to learn that abilityー

Futa: That has nothing to do with it!!

Yamato: Huh...

Futa: You have fun with us, don't you Yamato? I have fun with you, and so does everyone else!

That's why it doesn't matter how long we've known each other! We're all together now so...we're all having fun!!

Yamato: ...I see...so that's how it is.

Futa: Yep, that's how it works!

Location: Fujin Rizing share house

Kohei: So Felix from Fantôme and Yamato did a street performance together, huh...

Aoi: I'm surprised they teamed up. I kinda wish I could've seen it.

Futa: It was amazing! They really got the audience drawn in!

Yamato: That was just...Felix-san's strength. All I did was follow his lead.

Misaki: That Fant
ôme Iris is pretty impressive. They've got a special charm to them.

Kohei: Did you find this to be good practice, after all? Seems like your warrior training was worth it in the end.

Yamato: Yeah, I'm really glad I did it.

Aoi: So did you think of a new song while you were training?

Yamato: I did. I can play some of it if you'd like.

Futa: I can't help but get excited when I hear a new song! It just...makes me feel like moving ahead!

After all, it's much more like us to push forward with new music than to let old music hold us down!

Kohei: New music is good but aren't our old songs important too? We still need to practice them as well.

Misaki: He's talking to you, Yamato!

Yamato: Understood.

Aoi: Okay, let's give this song a listen and see where to go from there. What kind of impression did you want the song to have, Yamato?

Yamato: Well...kind of like a dashing swoosh and a shouty whoo...

Misaki: You're not making any sense!!

(Making music with everyone...it really is fun.)

(If it's okay...I'll stay here. No...I want to be here.)

Yamato: (Because being with them...is more fun than anything.)

Futa: Busking all alone...is Yamato really gonna be okay...?

Misaki: Won't he get involved with the wrong people if he's out doing street performances in Tokyo? He might get himself a fine...

Kohei: I don't think you need to worry about that...

Futa: I have an idea! Why don't we go spy on him!?

Kohei: Calm down, Futa. It's still only his first day, remember?

Aoi: Besides, you're not his parent. Why don't you just wait to ask him how it's coming along?

Futa: But...what if he's crying because he's all alone?

Kohei: ...You're worrying way too much.

Misaki: Not to mention, he must have mustered up a lot of courage to be able to do this alone. We don't want to ruin that, do we?

Futa: Uuu...Yamato...

ーA few hours laterー

Yamato: I'm back.

Futa: Yamato! You're backー!

Misaki: Tell us when you're going to be late for dinner, damnmit! ...Anyway, how did it go!?

Yamato: I just played the song I messed up during the live.

Misaki: I see...wait, you were only playing one song!? You're just practicing in the street at that point!

Kohei: Was there anyone one listening to you?

Yamato: ...No? There wasn't?

Kohei: Well, no one's going to want to stop and watch some guy practicing guitar in the street...

Yamato: I thought it was fine without an audience.

Futa: ...Well, that's to be expected on your first day! Don't sweat it!

Aoi: Y'know, if you're just doing the same as usual, why not come and practice at the studio with us?

Yamato: It's no good unless I'm busking.

Kohei: Why is it that you're so set on busking?

Yamato: It's something my favorite guitarist used to do.

Aoi: ...Huh?

Yamato: He mentioned in his autobiography that he practiced by playing in the street when his performances weren't to his expectations.

That's why I'd like to do the same.

Aoi: Oh...right...

Kohei: That's our Yamato...

Futa: If that's your reason then...we won't stop you, but...aren't you lonely? You don't feel like crying?

Yamato: I'm fine. I haven't shed a single tear.

ーOne week laterー

Yamato: I'll be off for today.

Misaki: I'll leave some food out for you! You can heat it up later!

Yamato: Right, see ya.

Aoi: It's been...a week now? I wonder how his training is coming along.

Kohei: He told me he still hasn't attracted a single audience member. Well, that's to be expected when all he's doing is practicing.

Aoi: It's amazing how much mental strength he has.

Misaki: Ain't he just thick in the head?

Futa: ...

Kohei: What's wrong, Futa? You're rather quiet today, aren't you?

Aoi: Usually you'd be going on about things like, "Does he have a pick? Does he have a handkerchief?"...

Futa: ...I'm at my limit...

Misaki: Huh?

Futa: I've been worried to no end...I can’t do this anymore! I'm going to see how he is!

(Futa leaves the share house)

Kohei: Oi, Futa!

Kohei: Great work, everyone! Today's live was fantastic!

Futa: Everyone was so excited, it felt amazing!

Yamato: ...

Futa: Is something wrong, Yamato!? Didn't you have fun?

Yamato: ...I messed up the last song.

Aoi: Really? I didn't notice.

Futa: You worry too much about the little things, Yamato! As for me, I don't sweat it as long as I'm having fun!

Aoi: You really should care a bit more!

Kohei: Well, it's good to reflect on yourself but you shouldn't let your mistakes hold you back.

It's more important to look at your accomplishments. In terms of delivering a live, it was a great success.

Yamato: But I...

Futa: Hey, I wanna make a new song soonー!

Misaki: That sure came out of nowhere...

Futa: Rather than being stuck with old songs, we should push ahead with some new music!

Aoi: ...I agree.

Futa: What kind of song should we make? I have no idea!

Misaki: You haven't got a clue!?

Yamato: ...

Futa: ...Oi, Yamato? Are you listening?

Yamto: Guys...I need your advice.

Kohei: What's up, did something happen?

Yamato: I need to leave for warrior training.

Futa: ...Warrior training? Are you going to run away to the mountains? And meditate under waterfalls!?

Misaki: Are ya gonna challenge your enemies to duels and beat up bad guys!?

Kohei: Woah, hang on a second! Where did this idea suddenly come from, Yamato?

Yamato: I practiced so much for today's live but I still messed up.

I want to get better. That's why I want to try practicing alone for a while.

Misaki: That's your warrior training?

Futa: You worry too much, Yamato! Having fun is what's important!

Yamato: If I'm like this...I can't have fun. I can't enjoy myself while I'm messing up where it matters most.

Futa: ...If you say so...

Yamato: I want to make my performance perfect before the next live. I just need a little time.

Kohei: Well, if this is what you want, we won't stop you... but what exactly does your "warrior training" entail?

Aoi: Will you be at the studio more?

Misaki: Are ya gonna become the pupil of a super guitarist?

Futa: Are you gonna meditate under waterfalls after all!?

Yamato: I considered the waterfall for a moment but I think my guitar would rust.

Actually...I'm gonna try busking.

Aoi, Futa, Kohei, Misaki: ...

EHHHHH!?
